0204 Videos

Just a handful of videos today. The phlebotomists are getting faster and faster in the lab, which is a good thing, because there are just a few more hours until clinicals begin!

0204 ECG/EKG with Fredel

Today during the second half of class, Fredel gave us a chance to measure his cardiac output! Possibly our last chance before leaving for clinicals...

0204 Throat Swabs

Today a few members of the class learned about throat swabs, demonstrated in the first two stills by Taryn and Leonard. Simone pointed out that you need to trigger a "gag reflex" to obtain the best quality specimen (image 3), followed by the class reaction (image 4)! Enjoy! (?)

0202 Videos -- Special Guests in the Lab!

Today we had some volunteers from Shannon Winchester's Medical Assistant class come in for blood draws. Carolyn, a former phlebotomy student and now in the MA program was a good sport, remembering what it was like to draw new arms. Kelly is a former MA student now in the Phlebotomy Program, so it really seems like what goes around comes around! Thanks everyone for helping to make this work!

Enjoy!
