0426 Class Visit from Gerry Cazinha, Career RN in Dialysis
Today we had a visit from Gerry Cazinha, a career RN with more than 30 years of experience in the field of dialysis. He brought along some cannulas (cannulae) with very large needles! The smallest needles that they use in dialysis are several gauges larger than our largest size needle, so they were impressive. He also had along a blood filtration system and lots of information about dialysis, which is a field where phlebotomists can find work, because both need to be able to find veins effectively, work with patients and handle needles safely.
Thank you very much for sharing with the class, Gerry!!!
