Day two of CPR and First Aid, so the students came between 7:00 and 8:00 (AM!) to practice their blood draws. Several silver stars and I think a gold star too were awarded today! The students are stepping into their own as phlebotomists and, as Simone predicted, students are stepping up their draws and actively pursuing "difficult draws."
Tomorrow, CPR/1st Aid is just half a day, so we will be drawing blood after lunch... Maybe we'll see a few lipemic specimens!

The class began CPR and First Aid this morning, so Simone opened up the laboratory at 7:00 AM (!) for blood draws. Thank you to those of you who made it in! Your future employers will appreciate your dedication and skill! If you missed today, try doubly hard to get in tomorrow, because when a three-day weekend slips into a four-day weekend, things happen to your draws that can take many, many days to repair...

There were a few false starts, but all in all, a good morning for drawing...
