David Grant paid the class a visit to share his life on dialysis and subsequently successful kidney transplant experience. Our budding phlebotomists got a chance to palpate his A/V (arteriovenous) shunt or fistula and ask questions about his fistula with respect to phlebotomy. It has been an exciting few days, with the on campus visit of PSBC on Friday and Mr. Grant's visit today. It has been a nice way to distract ourselves without too far off task right before tomorrow's test!

ReplyDeleteI had David as an instructor back in 1986 for Electronic Tech when it was Renton Vocational Technical Institute. I'm glad to see him still around.
